Uploading images on Bear
This is probably just an oversight on my part, but for anybody who may not have noticed when using the Bear editor to upload images, they are converted and resized to the webp format. There appears to be some loss of quality and image resizing going on, which I completely understand why this occurs, but I wasn't particularly happy with the loss in quality. On a small screen you are unlikely to even notice, but I could see the difference on my editing monitor and to some extent on a larger tablet device.
If, like me, you want to keep your images intact then you need to upload them manually from the media page, and make sure you check the 'upload raw' option. The photographer in me thought this was something to do with actual RAW images, but no, this keeps your original file intact, and no resizing or converting is done this way.
I'm off to replace all my images but maybe somebody else will find this useful too.
